Senator Elizabeth Warren, recognized for her skepticism in direction of Bitcoin, publicly celebrated its fifteenth anniversary by recognizing its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
In line with Bitcoin Magazine, Warren participated within the Capitol Flag Program to honor Nakamoto’s creation of Bitcoin (BTC) as a “monetary system.”
A flag was flown over the Capitol on Dec. 18, which was acknowledged by the Bitcoin group as HODL Day.
The popularity reveals a marked departure from Warren’s previous stance on cryptocurrency. The occasion surrounding the flag’s recognition is highlighted in New York Metropolis, with a gathering hosted by Bitcoin Journal and PubKey.
This gathering will embody a studying by T.J. Miller of the publish that popularized the time period “HODL” within the Bitcoin group.
PubKey Co-Founder Thomas Pacchia commented on Warren’s endorsement of Bitcoin, noting the importance of actions in political advocacy.
The pivot follows Warren’s latest legislative proposals to curb the misuse of cryptocurrencies for illicit actions, attempting to handle the challenges of digital currencies.
